Alexis, Charlie, and I walked to Boston Common and back on Saturday. The alarm went off on our way back, in Kenmore square.

Is that a dead tree back there or do you guys still have trees that haven't budded yet? Considering every day is in the mid-90s now, it is hard to conceive of others still experiencing spring.

Last week I was at the Kansas City airport, and one of my fellow passengers on the shuttle bus commented on how hot it was. I agreed, but said I didn't have much room to complain considering I'm from Austin; it's worse there. The woman looked surprised and said "Really?!" I was like, "Uh, yeah...." not realizing why news that Texas is hot was so shocking. Then she asked if I was born in Massachusetts. I said that no, I was not, but I had no idea why she asked that. Later, I realized she thought I said "Boston" when I said "Austin". No wonder she was so shocked.

Funny, I didn't even notice that tree at the time. Yes, it must be dead, everything has finally leafed out.
