3:00 snapshot #567

My brother and father and I at Buttonwood Park Zoo in New Bedford. My brother's old friend Dave took the picture.

Buttonwood has all native North American animals, plus two Asian elephants.

I was interested in this enclosure design, and the angle of the fence. The exhibit housed two bison, some white-tailed deer, and some wild turkeys and ducks.

There was a pretty cool indoor exhibit of all the aquatic habitats of Massachusetts. These are endangered diamondback terrapins.

A seaside habitat exhibit allowed you to get close to a tolerant tern.

This zoo guest was talking softly to the tern.
