Hey, Jef's Brother Andy here. I'm the graphics editor of the Las Vegas Mercury. My editor, Geoff, picked that photo because it illustrated the story well and was close up, putting a more personal face to the story.Plus we knew we'd be running pictures of a rally/protest here in Vegas. Two pictures of groups rallying would have been superfluous, so we went with the locals. Jef's story was essentially part of our cover package which you can see here. http://www.lasvegasmercury.com/2004/MERC-May-20-Thu-2004/23912110.html One of the pictures that didn't run was of the same idiots, who shall never receive donuts, protesting a high school production of the Laramie Project. They had some of the same damn signs. Anyway, I see a lot of "why the hell did they do it that way" comments, and I was finally in a position to answer.
Now if you'll all excuse me, I'm off to have another horrible procedure inflicted up my nostrils. Ciao.
what's with this anonymouse crap?
