3:00 snapshot #935: The shed and the yard

On Sunday I pulled the sheet metal off the shed, and Alexis worked on making a raised garden bed and cleaning up last years' dead plants.







Maggie tripped over a piece of metal sticking out of the ground, I started to dig it out an panicked thinking it was a gas line or something. Our neighbors calmed me, and I dug it all the way out: it's a bike crank. I think the rest of the bike is still in the dirt.

backyard archaeology is so much fun!! In my old yard in Medford we were always finding old medicine bottles and weird stuff..I think there was a trash pile buried near one corner of the house, cos that's where we always found stuff....and our old attic was a treasure trove!!! we pulled up the floor boards and discovered all sorts of neat things.....my friend 2 houses away once found a sapphire ring in her yard!!!!

Are you guys gonna redo the shed ? It looks like a fun project!! LOL...like you need more projects!!!!

The first house I lived in - the first my parents bought - they got cheap because the old man who had lived there was nuts. It turned out there were about a hundred glass milk bottles buried in the backyard, some of them broken. And a live hand grenade.
