I have a great deal of respect for parrots. They can give a much worse bite than a bird of prey, and they are very smart and devious. I like them a lot.

She looks like a feather-plucker.

Cockatoos are funny. I once met one who loved men, but hated women. She snuggled up to me, begging to be preened, but threatened to take off my wife's arm and beat her with the bloody stump.

It's the camera angle. She's closer to the camera than me so she looks crazy big but she's not.
