As I post this Alexis is napping hard, which she has earned with her tireless work and puppy mothering, but I'm wondering if she's going to wake up refreshed and lively at the time that we normally go to bed. Probably not. She's in bed as much to hide from the cold as she is to nap.

She went to the MSPCA hospital to photograph some dog today, while I went to a friend's "Post-apocalyptic Brunch." I ate some delicious food there, avoiding drinking booze despite tempting Prosecco and bourbon (not together--but hey why not?) and saw some of the He-Man and She-Ra Xmas special, which is the only He-Man media I've ever consumed and boy is it terrible.

On Friday I was eating a cupcake left over from the holiday party (it was a cupcake cake made to look like an xmas wreath) when a guy from maintenance saw it and asked "Whose birthday?" Without a beat passing I replied "Jesus!" I think it was the first time I've ever made my vet tech coworker laugh.
