Snow delay

Well that was interesting. I dreamed last night that my car slid around uncontrollably on the roads, ending in a spectacular and eerily quiet multi-vehicle collision. About a half hour ago I left for work in a picturesque snowfall and had so little traction that I couldn't make it up the very gentle grade to the end of the street. Much less dramatic than my dream, but immobility is the result nonetheless.

If the weather shifts dramatically to rain, as they say it might, I may make it to work today. Probably the wise course would be to limp to my local service station and get new tires on the car.

I can take the unscheduled delay to muse about how otherwise busy I am. The boredom and desolate feeling of winter makes me plan lots of things, and I think I've overloaded my plate. My actual work day is less full than at other times of year, but I've lined up a ton of things for AAZK which happen at various times of day and evening, and it looks like a crowded year of events and activities. I may miss the first chapter meeting of the year today if I remain snowbound.

I've got ideas for starting up the podcast again, but I feel like I'm kind of crazy to start a new project. I have to remind myself that the stakes are low, and that I'm doing it because I want to, not because anything depends on it. So I guess the silver lining is that I may have time today to update my snapshots and play around with the podcasting equipment.

Of that there is no doubt. I have an appointment to get new ones Friday. Hopefully the next two days are dry.
