Maggie was brought in for an ultrasound today, and they saw something "Suspicious" in her, which turned out to be one of my bootlaces. She doesn't normally eat things that aren't food, but when she has an upset stomach and can't eat grass (because it's under a foot of snow, or she's locked inside) she'll eat shoelaces. All previous laces have gone through, but this long bootlace stayed in, causing some trouble. It's been removed and we should be able to pick her up this weekend.

I'm glad the mystery's solved and your pet is on the mend. I'm not making fun of the situation, I really do want to find a clip of "Crumb" where Robert Crumb's brother is attempting to swallow a very long piece of string to clean out his digestive tract. Have you seen that documentary? It's one of my faves.

So now she'll be fine. What a relief!

Aw, Maggie. I'm glad it was something obvious and (relatively) easy.

I'm so glad Maggie will be ok!

And that Crumb brother eating the super long string scene is one of the most ... Disconcerting of anything put to film. GREAT documentary, but one that sticks with you for a long time, and not necessarily in a good way.

Funny, I loved Crumb, but when Max was doing his thing on screen I took the opportunity to visit the mens room, so I never saw the whole thing. Some years later I was working at Last Gasp and Maxon came in to talk to the owner--it took me just a second to recognize him, and it was hard not to think of that scene.
