Here's a sample of first lines from my friends list:

gosh, a lot of snow is coming down. it looks beautiful.

Since we are having our first big snow storm of the year in the north east

The big snow is here. It's the first big snow of Winter 2005-2006, and it is magical and fluffy and pretty.

It is just this sort of snowy morning that the house feels snug, the family secure.

more incoming snow as dawn struggles to break just now here in the frozen north.

Just wait until March/April/May, when my blog will start out with the line, "Sick to death of this stupid snow already." But today, it IS magical and fluffy and pretty. I stand by my current assessment!

That is one downside to living in Central California. New snow is so pretty. I love the way it hushes everything. At least Portland, OR, has at least two or three lovely snowy days in the winter (and sometimes more).
