Meanwhile, the pit bulls sleep heavily.
While walking around the yard with Alex we came across this crab spider. My spider book suggests that it's a Xysticus crab spider--a group of crab spiders that ambushes better on the gray and brown ground than on the insufficient camouflage of a bright green leaf.
