This triangulate cobweb spider (Steatoda triangulosa) was discovered lurking in a case of empty soda cans being stored in a shed.
This spider is one of many species that build tangled messy-looking webs inside houses, collecting dust and symbolizing the passage of time. It's one of the few spiders I can recognize at a glance, owing to the pattern of triangles on its abdomen and the research I did to identify it back when it was 50 more urban species #4. The scientific name more or less means "triangles on its fat ass."
