More mushrooms at Franklin Park Zoo, and other urban wildlife.

I've seen this one pop up outside the zoo hospital offices for a couple years now. Pretty sure it's Amanita rubescens. No one is quite sure if this species (if that's what this is) is edible for humans or not. A squirrel took one bite of this and decided that was plenty.

Stone zoo mushrooms revisited.

A week prior I photographed some mushrooms at Stone Zoo. Here are a couple more shots, that have some more identifying features on them. They don't depict the smell, which is important for identifying Agaricus species. (I didn't notice any smell.)
