Northern flatid planthopper Anormenis chloris

The adult flatid planthopper spends its days making jump-assisted flights with its unique-shaped wings, sucking plant juices with its beak-like mouth. The young nymph is wingless, and protects itself with a waxy pile of excreted fluff. This next picture, taken from the previous post, may be a northern flatid planthopper nymph, or another bug nymph using the same strategy.

This animal was previously featured as 50 more species #24.
