Our neighbors who had chickens got rid of their last ones and gave us their chicken runs. I wish I had a picture of us moving the big one. I was inside it, in the back of our neighbor's truck trying to hold it in place. My dad was there and probably got some shots of it--he said it looked like I was involved in a prisoner exchange.

We need to arrange the runs and make a way to connect the coop to them, then the hens will have 4 times as much space to scratch and forage.

Allandale Woods Urban Nature Walk

Here's the group that assembled for the December 2012 Urban Nature Walk! Not a bad turn out, considering that the forecast called for rain and/or snow with temperatures just above freezing.

Allandale Woods is an Urban Wild; It's 90 acres of second-growth forest within the city of Boston. We spent two hours and saw the tiniest sliver of the place.
