3:00 snapshot #1748: Friday

As the conference winds to an end, it's time to reveal to my new friend that I have a weird habit of taking a picture every day at 3 pm no matter where I am.

I love thinking of names of pubs.


This great egret is snacking on a baby turtle.


This beautiful metallic scarab beetle is a pest known as the green June beetle. Larvae feed on plant roots, adults on ripening fruit--breeding appears to take place in the nests of leaf-cutter ants. Pretty awesome, even dead.

A flurry of mushrooms at the end

I saw many partial fairy rings (fairy arcs?) in Florida. I saw lots of mushrooms in general, which I consider to be a huge factor in Florida's favor.
