At our staff meeting last night at school, we spent 15 minutes talking about what we should do if there were an avian flu outbreak in the Boston area. Most of that time was spent talking about how we would get paid if no one was in the building. And then we were told to get a flu shot (which, as I understand it, is completely useless for most flu viruses, including avian flu ones). It was so silly. I mean disaster plans in general are fine, but this seemed a bit unnecessary.

Also, I understand that one of the few things that actually helps the body defeat flu viruses is elderberry. Just FYI...
