Los Angeles, CA (actually Thousand Oaks, during the day): It was 100F last night at 8:30pm. And it's been muggy as the ATM across the street from the all-night buffet. We're a desert. We're not used to humidity. The heat has brought on thunderstorms that have no rain but plenty of hail and lightning, which starts brush fires. And the ubiquitous rolling blackouts are looming.

just west of Portland, Oregon. 65 Fahrenheit (high of 85 estimated, it's only 8:20 a.m.) down from temperatures at or above a hundred all weekend and yesterday. Dew point's about the same as it's been and the sky is clear.
