Hm. Maybe 5 to 6? (They are usually based on year. '06 being the current year and release, thus iPhoto 6 should be the most currently distributed edition. It's what I have on my Intel Macmini at work, for example.)
I had a tough time going from 5 to 6, but overall I was able to update it enough to get it to be functional and useful. There are some great improvements in some areas, and some questionable changes in other areas.
Running backups of those photo libraries I hope. ;)
