New tool

I used this yesterday, though it wasn't telescoped out. It's a very good net--a little heavy for a kestrel, but perfect for a barred owl.

You mean it's not for catching fairies?!

Wow...I can't imagine trying to catch a raptor!

"Capture and Restraint"? I heart your tags.

So what makes it a good net? Size, shape, weight of the net? The fact that it's new and doesn't have big holes in it?

Yeah, pretty much. No holes, nice big opening with a long sack of net. Also it telescopes out to 18 feet, which would have been handy a few months back when I had to catch a loose kestrel in a school library.
