Not the best photography here, but stuff that is nice to look at, I think.

Mollie, in her pot.

A Coprinus mushroom, erupted from a pile of decomposing leaves at work.

A web of a "bowl-and-doily" spider (Frontinella pyramitela), or a similar web.

[livejournal.com profile] rockbalancer and her mom, who was visiting from California, in front of one of [livejournal.com profile] cottonmanifesto's paintings.

A cirrus cloud (I think--any help, cloud watchers?) pictured over Waltham.

Some more art in the Riverway. This is one of my favorites of this exhibition. [livejournal.com profile] cottonmanifesto, [livejournal.com profile] belen1974 and Maggie can be seen passing by.

A little more context. This one interacts with the surroundings especially well.

Another one--I'm not sure how I feel about this piece, it evokes Christo's "Gate's," but also invites the viewer to read the wax-coated sheets of paper, which isn't really possible. Does it have to do with Tibetan prayer flags? Is it more personal? It looks pretty nice, though.

Another Ward's Pond rock balance, peacefully defying Charlie's splashing and romping.

This is the biggest one I've made yet. The bottom rock is about 18 inches tall or so. An unfamiliar passerby with a big camera took some shots of it, so it may appear on a blog elsewhere.

At twilight and from a great distance, a great blue heron in Leverett Pond is beautiful, but pushes the limits of my little camera to the breaking point.

Potted cat! I love it. I also especially love the one of Charlie and the balanced rocks.

Wow. It's a pleasure just to know someone saw a Heron around here.

Aw. Kitty in a pot. My eyes went all scrunchy.

The art in the park thing is pretty cool - the city doesn't mind folks doing that?

I admit - I've been dubious about the rock balancing thing, since so many folks are doing it now. But, dag, those remind me of mornings at the Buddhist temple in Houston. Something about the solidity of the effect belying the true precariousness and concentration of the operation, I suppose.

Amazing job on the heron photo. It almost looks like an oil painting.

Mollie is a gorgeous creature, and I love it when kitties curl up in silly places. At my old apartment in JP, I used to walk around with my roommate's kitten in the pocket of my bathrobe...

Those rock balances are nifty, too.

[livejournal.com profile] rockbalancer's mom looks entirely too young.
That second rock balance (with rocks) is very beautiful. The top actually has the markings of a head and face. The middle part looks like a jade torso.

That's one beautiful feline.

For fun, do you ever ask her what the coefficient of friction is? My cat gets it right every time I quiz her, though the pronunciation is always a little off.

I might have better luck asking her who the drummer for Rush is, or what British DJ had a hit single with a Leo Sayer remix?
