Feast of Saint Chuck D day

I'm very pleased about when my birthday falls. August first is the mid way point between the Summer Solstice (sometimes laughably called "mid-summer") and Autumnal Equinox. The day is a long one, and usually a hot and sunny one. Half of my life it was a day that came with almost a full month of no responsibilities yawning before it. These days I'm lucky if I can get it off work, but this year I managed with bells on. In a minute I'll take Charlie up to my friend Carrie's house in Salem to hang out with her and her dog Rudy. When I come back I have a date with the wife to meet some obligations, and then it's back out to the bar to hang out with some more friends.
