In the colorless land

Yesterday we went to the Forest Hills Cemetery.

We can't seem to find the source or meaning of this epitaph.

Please note the little girl in a glass tube in the background (as pictured by [livejournal.com profile] cottonmanifesto here).

The ballerina and the seacaptain.

The pond is frozen.

Charlie sits on the frozen pond.

Maggie looks down from up in a tree.

We crossed a bridge which had these decorative iron designs.

And looked down upon another frozen pond.

What did she find in there?

Finally, some color.

On this day in 365 Urban Species: nothing, because I was visiting my parents (but I posted twice the day before.)

JUdgin that the epithat is creditied
"-W.M.S."
and one pf the people buried there is Winifred M. Sheldon (W.M.S.), I assume it's just some quaint little thing she must have said...

The ballerina and the sea captain
Went to sea in a beautiful pea-green boat.
They took some honey
And plenty of money
Wrapped in a five-pound note.

That just reminded me of the Edward Lear poem, I don't know why.

How does Maggie climb trees? Or did someone help her up there?

There's a cemetery somewhere between Waltham and Boston (Chestnut something?) that has a large statue of an angel who appears to be flipping off the world. The inscription is "To My Beloved Wife."

Goodness, some great shots!

But yeah, now is when I usually switch to B+W film...
