Quincy Quarries Reservation

We went to the Quincy Quarries reservation today, a former granite quarry that is now public land managed by the department of conservation and recreation. There was cool stuff to photograph before we even left the parking area.

The place seems to be most popular with graffiti artists and rock climbers.

Fetus!

I liked the places where trees had started to grow on top of the neglected granite.

Maggie had to be let off-leash to navigate this flooded path of stepping stones.

I guess since the water can't drain through the hard granite, it just gets full of algae. I imagine that later in the year the water can no longer support algae; maybe we'll come back in the summer and check.

Alexis and I agreed that this was the best graffiti in show. See her photos here.
