I find that sad. I guess I have to admit I like birds better than spiders. I like spiders. . . but geez, this poor freaked out bird! Can you imagine?

This isn't uncommon for Nephila. They and their webs are enormous (well, the females anyway- the males are minute). I've seen one catch a tree-frog that hopped into her web by mistake, and a friend of mine saw one catch and wrap a *bat*!
