If you have the paperwork for your car, the "key number" is on it somewhere. If you give them the key number, the dealer can make you a new key. In fact, if you call the dealer they may know where on the paperwork the key number is. The down side of this is that they will charge you about $100 to make the key.

As an alternative, you could just take taxis today and buy a small bottle of liquor for tonight. Consider it your election day gift to yourself.
