Putting a toe into the clutter

Inspired by the great 2009 Massart (and associated industries) Facebook old photo explosion, I started looking through one of a million bags (and boxes and containers and so on) of old photos. Daunted, I managed to throw out about 20 blurry pics of nothing in particular. But I also came across a handful of cassette tapes. It occurred to me that as I go through all of my belongings, at some point I am going to stumble upon a few hundred cassettes. We do have a tape deck in our stereo, but we almost never use it.

Anyone want a huge box full of cassettes? It's probably a cool retro thing to have, but I see it as allergy-inducing junk.

You'd probably have better luck trying to give away Betamax videos.

Cassettes. . .gah. . .maybe the plastic is recyclable?

Has your Dad's situation affected how you feel about your own organization?

Also- one of the favorite books I have is the Vulture book you gave me. So cool.

NNNOOOOoooooo......

We have cassettes yes, but also reel to reel. And in the visual media we have 3/4 inch video from the 70s, and maybe 4 other types .... ACK

a friend of mine found some way to convert his cassettes into digital files, but it's time consuming. It has to be done in real time.

Anyone who would convert a cassette tape to a digital file really needs to get out more. And I make Howard Hughes look like Brad Pitt.
