Oddly, I liked the writing in Ghosts of Evolution much better than anything I've ever read by Quammen. I feel like he repeats himself too much.

However, if you're digging the subject of island biogeography in general, I have to recommend the book I'm currently reading: Singing the Turtles to Sea: The Comcáac (Seri) Art and Science of Reptiles by Gary Paul Nabhan. It's an ethnobiology book about the relationships between the Comcaac/Seri people of the Sea of Cortez and the reptiles in their homeland, and it includes some interesting stuff on their role in distributing chuckwallas and geckos to various islands.
