Was there a zookeeper meeting/convention going on in Boston recently (last weekend)? A co-worker of mine was up there for an unrelated event and was asked if he was there for the keeper thingy. He also noted that appearance wise he was the weirdest person there. He was dismayed since it was a large city that he would be the weirdo. People snickered at him for wearing a kilt (utilikilt)...
No keeper thingie up here that I was aware of. Maybe they were talking about the movie? They haven't totally left yet.
Depending what neighborhood you visit, a person in a utilikilt may or may not be the weirdest looking person around. We do have a lot of colleges, but Boston is at its heart a puritan town. At least he was only snickered at--if he had been wearing a yankees hat it would have been worse.
