Yellow Sac Spider.

These are very common household spiders. This one is in a washbasin at work. These spiders sometimes get in between a person's clothes and skin and bite, which in some people can be "medically significant." One bit Alexis two years ago and she had a painful welt on her leg for two weeks and she still has a scar.

We have Sac Spiders too, but ours are Miturga gilva, the larger variety...

oh gosh! This could be where I got my gigantic mysterious welt that also left a scar. I've seen similar spiders around, but I'm not sure if they are, in fact, the same.

Thanks for posting, the pictures are awesome.

A little black and white jumper bit me twice yesterday. I want to be nice to spiders but biting me is a capital offense. Why aren't all bugs vegetarians?

Pretty much all bugs eat plants (or detritus) or other bugs*. So if all bugs were vegetarian, there wouldn't be enough things eating bugs and we'd be overwhelmed with bugs.

Spiders don't bite you because they want to eat you, anyway. Cockroaches do that.

*except for some perverts like ticks and mosquitoes.
