Random, questions.

Any requests? I mean, just in general.

I saw a soft-winged flower beetle, but it flew away before I could get a picture.

Someone misindentified a mushroom on yahoo answers, so I created an account so that I could email the OP and let them know about the mistake.

What kind of mushroom kit should I get?

I'm taking Charlie to the River (just to swim, not to kill him like in a blues song) so when I get back hopefully I'll have succeeded in honoring your request.

i think Twitter has affected my blogging style.

I'm @jefctaylor, which looks like I'm saying I'm "at myself."

I'm planning a "Year of the Tiger Rock Band Game" event. Wanna come?

The Reishi Mushroom Patch! Since it's going to be summer! I was thinking about getting one as well, to grow in a terrarium, maybe. COOL STUFF.

I like that one too, it's so pretty! The only problem is you can't eat 'em (you can grind them into tea, but that ain't happening.)

You don't like tea, or are you hankering for some 'shroom eggies? XD

Too much work for a final product that (I assume) will taste like ass.

Hahaha! Yeah, they do say 'most people like' it.

I think you still owe me a photo the bowling thing. All of you together in a pile.

We tried the blue foot outdoor patch a few years ago, but nothing happened. Pretty sure it was user error. Last year we inoculated a bunch of logs with chicken of the woods, maitake, and lions mane. The chicken of the woods' log was full of a pink/orange mycelia within a couple months, and I'm sure it will fruit this year.
We've had several indoor patches(from a different company) that were pretty prolific. You might want to consider a mushroom that dries well... you will get sick of eating them fresh!

i've been amused at the variety of mushrooming knives that they have in europe.

How timely, I was just telling Ken that we ought to figure out a way to grow mushrooms in the cellar space of our new house. I like the shitakes, but some of those others look good, too - especially anything you could seed into old tree stumps around the place.

I'd go for the Pioppino myself, for the following reasons:

1. Never had them before
2. Haven't seen them to be commercially available.
3. Wild hunting agrocybes is a bit too adventurous for my level of expertise.

I was leaning toward them too for the same reason.
