More than any other of my recent pictures, this pair represents a conflict in the urban nature picture project: Should I be selecting the best photograph from the day, or the one that best captures the idea of urban nature?

I love that name: "toadflax." The flower, though, is much prettier than the name.

agreed, do both :) But place the 'idea' picture at the top. Both represent nature in an urban setting after all. Just because you don't see cement or man clearly in the frame, doesn't mean that it isn't part of the image.

In the end, I doubt we'll complain about an occasional extra photograph or three. :)

The joy of a personally defined project... its rules are mutable :) Really, I'd say don't worry too much about which type to go for, better picture quality or more urban themed... whichever brings you the most satisfaction on the day you're posting will probably work well for us as readers too.

I like both. So I'd say whichever one you like better on any particular day, and if some days have two, then that's just a bonus.
