Augh! Is that what that stuff is called? It's the bane of my dad's backyard garden and we've never put a name on it til now. Any advice on dealing with it?

I'd mechanically pull it if it was in my garden, I guess. It likes very wet conditions, and well packed soil, so you could try to discourage it by changing those conditions. It's a very hardy weed--it's one of the few native weeds we have.

lol, our backyard if anything is dry and loosely packed. It's just hardy, period. At least it's native, I guess? Though we have plenty of native weeds-kudzu, VA creeper, pigweed...sigh
