I adore chicory! The range of blues in it (by my reckoning, there are at least three in it) is remarkable. A friend of mine, absolutely phenomenal gardener, always allows some in her beds. Her sister says "That's a weed!" to which Karen says, "Maybe so, but I love it."

I've lived in MA since 1973, and never visited any of the "urban wilds" places you post about. So I have to THANK YOU for alerting me to these wonders, so near to me and yet so far (since I ignore them). I now have a list of places to check out in the beauty of fall!
