Sanctuary mushrooms
Oct. 1st, 2005 07:34 amI photographed these one month ago, more or less, at the wildlife sanctuary where I work.

This is (I believe) Clavicorona pyxidata growing out of a dead part of a living apple tree.

I've never seen these before, I think they are beautiful. Maybe Cystolepiota adulterina?

There's not enough of this probable Amanita showing to guess what it is, but I liked the large hanging universal veil.
