It looks like I'm pulling Charlie by the collar here to talk to him like a mean gangster, but I was just trying to get him into frame for the snapshot.
We had just come from Ward's Pond, where we hadn't been for months. It was Charlie's first time swimming this season! I took some pictures and found a fun monster.

It seems like it's been forever since I took Charlie swimming. I've got plans to bring him down to Mother Brook on the weekends for swimming, but on this Monday I had the day off, and just happened to pass Ward's pond with Charlie in the car. We gotta go! i said.

So, Charlie's game is that he swims around and I throw rocks into the water. He swims toward the splashes. He has no interest in bringing tennis balls back or anything like that. But if I take too long to find new rocks to throw, or get distracted by something, he'll swim to shore and chew on a stick (or in this case, a log). So what did I get distracted by?

This wonderful monster! I love aquatic insect larvae, they're so weird and wonderful. This is a baby damselfly.
