A post about dogs and mushrooms

I know you're all shocked that I would post about dogs and mushrooms, but that happened to be what I took pictures of yesterday. Now you're even more shocked: pictures as recent as the day before?
Anyway, Charlie here is laying in a fairy arc--not quite a ring--made of Mirasmius oreades mushrooms. They're pretty small, so maybe I need to use some fairy magic to make the arc more visible.

Now compare this with the first one. See the mushrooms now?

This is that blackened puffball from a couple days ago. The outer cuticle is gone all together, and now we're looking right down into the spores. So, purple-spored mushroom or skull-shaped mushroom? I wonder what color the skull-shaped mushroom's spores supposed to be, cause these are pretty darn purple.
EDITED TO ADD: David William Fischer just told me that"C. craniformis has yellow-brown spores." In other words, this is a purple-spored puffball. (I'm torn between "hooray" and "duh.")

That same day (Yesterday!) I went to the Roslindale Farmers Market where it was Dog Day!

Dogs arrived from all over, in trailers pulled by colorful tricycles!

This one went by peacefully, but the second one barked at Charlie the whole way by.

I was standing on the sidewalk looking at these semi-urban mushrooms.

There are Amanitas, I'm going to say A. flavoconia until someone smarter than me tells me otherwise. Go ahead, it's okay.
Hooray for dogs and mushrooms!
