Thanks to all and welcome to the new improved Urban Pantheist Blog with hopefully substantially less spam. Sorry to anyone who finds a new layer of difficulty when posting a comment or trying to find someone else's old comment.

This snapshot is about how I have to wear a cut glove at work so I don't cut the tip of my finger off (again). The sweet potato is for a monkey (a black and white colobus monkey). I have never seen the monkey eat any sweet potato.

The new fancy food we're feeding Q*Bert contains sweet potato. I've never seen a cat eat sweet potato either.

The high-end cat foods have sweet potato and other veggies, including the low-protein (6%) Spot's Stew that I feed my cats because the one has kidney issues. That one is crying like he's starving to death whenever I cook potato or sweet potato for myself, and I have to share, and then of course the other one sees him eating and has to have some, too.

I've learned not to tell my cats "Cats don't eat that!" despite being pretty sure that wild cats don't even encounter apple bread in the guts of their prey.

My cat's favorite food was peaches. Also bananas (I have film evidence, even). Cat wasn't normal....

As far as that goes, we used to have a cat who had a thing about corn muffins (specifically, those made with Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix). She would leap up on the counter, remove any sort of movable covering, and then chew off the tops. I'm pretty sure that cats don't encounter corn muffins in the wild, either.

So far I'm not impressed. I set it so all non-friends comments would be screened, and two spam comments have come through already. Not sure what the problem is.

Do you mean that the sweet potato just lies there, sad and uneaten, until it rots and gets thrown away; or that the monkey is simply very careful not to eat it while anybody is watching?
