What's the difference between a squirrel and a rat? Squirrels get in the dumpster from above, rats from below.

Rats are politer.

Could just be in my neck of the woods, but the rats were always "Oh, excuse me, I'll be going now..." and would slip out of the way until I left, whereas the squirrels were undaunted by anything short of a full charge with arm waving.

Also true. I caught the same squirrel TWICE at that dumpster where I was trying to catch rats. Bold to the point of stupidity.
