Okay, so I didn't really take any good pictures of the blizzard itself, but lots of other people did, including Beloved Wife. Click that link if you want to see what 2 feet of snow around my house looks like. At three o'clock we were starting to watch "Julie and Julia," very possibly the only Nora Ephron movie I will ever see. Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci were amazing in the half of the movie that mattered.

While I was shoveling out the walk during the blizzard, my neighbor came by with his snowblower and offered to clear our driveway. How should we repay him?

I read this as "beat him with a cake." I'm not sure why. Also, I didn't know Urbpan was a mutual friend! Small world. :)

Alas, LiveJournal is an ever-smaller world.

Give him a pitti like Turtle? ;-P I'd say send a thank you note with a promise to repay a favor he needs when he needs it.

I agree that the Julia parts were the only worthwhile bits of that movie. I wanted to like it... I read the book before the movie came out, and I didn't really like Julie in the book, but thought maybe the movie would be better... but no, in the end I just didn't like Julie. I thought she was annoying to the extreme. Meryl and Stanley, on the other hand... marvelous!!

Tucci does a great job of not being overshadowed by Meryl Streep's amazing performance.
