This is Nice Guy, the peacock that was being trained in another recent snapshot.

And you were probably wondering when I'd get a picture of one of those baby lemur twins! Sorry for the craptastic cellphone photo--new camera coming soon!

This other lemur was very interested in grooming the baby. The mom corrected this behavior when it became obnoxious.

Impossibly cute! Are the young ones always that reddish colour?

I honestly don't know, but I did a google image search for "baby ring-tailed lemur" to check and that's a pretty good way to start your morning.

OOO. Baby lemurs! I'll be up that way in less then 2 weeks! (zoo time will be somewhere in the 16-18 range depending on the weather.)

That's great! Unfortunately that's exactly when I'm on vacation so we won't be able to meet up :( I'll be there Monday the 15th and not in again until thursday the 25th.

ps - any more babies that I might want to know about? I'm thinking of going to the RI zoo before the event on Friday the 19th. (the hotel is only about 45 min away.. the event starts around 6, so I've got a few hours before I have to set-up)

There's a baby bongo (born in November?), a baby Grant's zebra (born during WeatherChannel storm Nemo), and our youngest gorilla is 2 and a half, still pretty babylike.

If you make it up to stone zoo there is a baby gibbon (again, about 2 years old) and a baby prehensile-tailed porcupine.

Oh so cute. That's one thing I did not get to see on St. Catherines Island - guess it wasn't birthing season just yet when I was there.
