My dad lent me his cd of pictures from our vacation to Santiago and Easter Island. If you are a new friend who hasn't seen my pictures from the trip, there are a million of them posted in my August and September archives. One of the first things I noticed about his pictures is that I'm in a lot of them. Despite this, my dad's photography is really good. He's had a camera on his shoulder like a prosthesis for longer than I've been alive. Anyway, I'll post some over the next few days.

Here's me in Santiago (in Charles Darwin park on Santa Lucia Hill) drinking/eating a traditional thing made of a whole peach in juice with kernels of corn. I forget what its called but it was very nice.

Tasted yummy (no booze), but the texture would be quite challenging for most people. I kinda liked it--it's a drink, and it's a snack!

Do you know about "bubble tea?" It's all the rage with the many Asian students in Allston. Drifting spheres of tapioca suspended in your drink.

oh my god.. that stuff is called boba here and EVERYONE and thier mother drinks it. We even have a boba counter at the MU and that shit is the nastiness stuff I have ever tasted. I spit the boba out the minute it entered my mouth. It was wrong wrong wrong. And everyone raves about how yummy it is. I think they are all crazy.

From the site linked above:

They are also known as the "boba" drink in Western China because it is described as to having the same texture as the female breasts.
