This beautiful and weird old thing appeared in the hallway at work. PAUSE SNAPSHOTS


I love the box art, and the fact that they are directly marketing this target-shooting accessory to women.


Here's how the skeet-launcher works! The box is full of ceramic frisbees (clay pigeons). I showed this thing to my young volunteer and explained it was "for skeet," and she gave me a really strange look, and verified that I had just said "skeet." Later on one of my hipper friends explained that "skeet" has a sexual slang meaning among the youngsters. (Look it up yourself on urban dictionary, don't make me get into it.)

*skeet* shooter. Ha! I didn't know I'd be catching up on slang here today, but hey, it's good to know. (So I can feel the generational divide more keenly.)
