March (well, April) Urban Nature Walk at Constitution Beach!

I've decided that in 2014 Urban Nature Walks will be scheduled for the last Sunday of every month. I was planning to go to Constitution Beach but last Sunday was not a good beach day (lots of rain--better for the woods), so I postponed it by one week. Constitution Beach is in East Boston--the same neighborhood as Logan Airport.

The edge of the water was coated with mollusk shells, lots of oysters and razor clams.

I didn't bring binoculars, but I could tell that it had great potential as a birding spot. With the airport so close, snowy owls probably come by.

There's a different view of the Boston city skyline than I'm used to seeing too, which is nice.

Okay kids, grab your pail and shovel, put on your winter coat, and let's build sand castles!

This time of year there was about a 2 to 1 human to dog ratio at the beach.

Since you've announced the schedule with plenty of time to plan a trip, I'll shoot for the October event.

Cool! It's likely to be at a graveyard. Maybe Mt Auburn, since it's the most dramatic of them in our area.
