Zookeepers hard at work!



The Bird's World staff is dismantling the tree kangaroo exhibit--the new tree kangaroo exhibit is in the place of the koala exhibit at Stone Zoo. The koalas were on loan last summer.



I can't reveal what the new animal in the exhibit will be, but they've removed the perches, put in a soil substrate, and are considering using a reverse light cycle (used for nocturnal animals). Another hint is that this is in the part of the zoo that has all animals from Australasia and New Zealand.

(Presumably this means some kind of interaction with Kathy Brader at the National Zoo, who keeps the international breed book for the animals?)
