whining

"A" has come and gone (with deafening peals of indifference, the author sniffles) and "B" comes next. Please someone assign me a subject! On the table already are Boletus and Bot Fly. Anyone who does not wish to hear more about mushrooms and/or insects (insects that lay eggs in living flesh, no less!) needs to suggest something else.

I have "blackbird" written in my notebook as a possibility, not to give [livejournal.com profile] rwblackbirda swell head or anything.

Lots of stuff begins with B!

Ack, you don't need the hyphen in there. :)

blueberries
buffalo
bananas (where are they going?)
botulism
beans
bushmen (!kung)
black ducks

b is an easy one!

(boletus and bot fly are definitely the most interesting to me)

breeding
beaver
butter cups
bobcat
blue birds
bug bites
big game
butterflies
bear
big bird and other urban wildlife of sesame street

My top choice would be big game and its interactions in urban environment. But that would barely be considered a B

... or Red-winged Blackbirds and all their glory.

(I hit one with my car yeasterday. It flew straight into my windscreen while I was on an on-ramp. I felt so bad)

indeed it did.

I died too, a little, on the inside.

In my notes for what to write about for UrbPan #5, I have the title "Invasion of the Megafauna." I intent to write about the increased incidence of conflict between large animals and humans: Black Bears, Coyotes, Deer, Wild Turkeys, Bald Eagles etc.

I look forward to it.

I read an interesting article the other day about pumas/panthers/cougars/mountain lions being seen more often near cities.

Yay! you did it. :)

Interesting there are so many words for the same animal--it's because they have such a wide range. I wonder if there are as many words for Barn owl (the bird with the widest range on earth).
