Yesterday was Free Fun Friday. 25,588 people took advantage of the fact that there was no admission fee at the zoo.


Here's what it looked like shortly before we opened the gates. We have two entrances, this is the less busy one.


Often these kind of crowds mean that it's very difficult to see the animals--the giraffes, however, were quite obliging and seemed curious about all the people.


Beau came right over for a close up!


The administrative assistant to the director of animal management delivered lunches to all the zookeeper staff stuck in their various work stations!
