And have you been to the Cincinnati zoo? I go there somewhat regularly, but tend to be more depressed than anything. They have six or so penguins in a 10 foot by 10 foot room in the Bird House, and it's digusting. I'd tell you about some of their more depressing cages, but I dont like to think about it.
Where I work there are about 45 animals. These pictures were taken at the Stone Zoo--my first visit, since it's pretty hard to get to without a car. I'm not sure how many animals are in their collection. I didn't photograph the bats (moving too much) or most of the primates (off-exhibit for the winter), the flamingoes, eagles and so on. It's a small zoo (26 acres) but they have a good variety of animals. (about two dozen species, not including snakes and birds of prey, which aren't broken down by species on the website)
I haven't been to any part of Cincinnati. I guess I've only been to zoos in New England (Franklin Park, Stone, Mystic Aquarium, New England Aquarium, and Southwick's wild animal park) and California (SFzoo, Monterey Aquarium) and the Buin zoo in Chile.
