Tomorrow I leave for Orlando Florida. There I will attend the national conference for the American Association of Zoo Keepers. There will be some (very small amount of) free time to do other stuff, and I'll be with my brother and father. I'm hoping to meet some friends I only know from online. Does anyone reading this want to meet up somewhere?

It's my first zookeeper conference, so I'm just going to try to absorb the atmosphere and meet a lot of people. I'm very curious about the city and the surroundings, so hopefully I'll see some of it. I have almost no curiosity about the theme parks, except professionally--how are their pest control programs.

I think my snapshots are going to get interesting for a couple days, then really boring (inside of conference room in hotel). We'll see.

I'll try to check up on my social media in case anyone wants to hang out. You know my email address.

The thing about Florida is that they have different pests they need to worry about. They have alligators. We went to Kennedy Space Center, and took one of their launch pad tours and every few feet the bus driver would pull over and the tour guide would point out the local wildlife, alligators, turtles, and a variety of birds. My MiL's neighborhood has a few man made ponds and one evening I took a walk around the neighborhood and the alligators in the ponds were all out resting on the banks. There are warning signs everywhere to stay away from the waters edge. I'm sure that's one pest you would find interesting to deal with. Do they make A pest strip like the fly strips, for alligators? :)

Have fun! Visit Gatorland if you can, not so much for the piles of captive alligators, but for the hordes of wild Black Vultures and Snowy Egrets.
