At the scarab and egret pub.

I love thinking of names of pubs.

This beautiful metallic scarab beetle is a pest known as the green June beetle. Larvae feed on plant roots, adults on ripening fruit--breeding appears to take place in the nests of leaf-cutter ants. Pretty awesome, even dead.

We have June Beetles here in MD too! But they do their pesty deeds in uh...June. I wonder what's up with FL June beetles?

I don't know how any of the animals in Florida know what season it is--it's always summer as far as I can tell.
