Movie talk: Wild Parrots.
Jan. 13th, 2006 05:36 pmUsually I friends-lock my movie reviews, but since this is an Urban Nature movie, it belongs with The Urban Pantheist posts.
The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill is about how a connection to nature can bring meaning to a person’s life. In the case of Mark Bittner, nature itself was hidden from him, until the seemingly out of place parrots forced him to see it. Living in the city, blinded by day-to-day existence, he didn’t see that nature was (is always) all around him, until colorful, clownish birds were literally staring him in the face. Once he becomes aware of, falls in love with, and devotes his life to the parrots, he is able to see life itself more clearly.
